Around 250 chess players from across the district participated in the competition. Events were held for both boys and girls in the categories of 5 years, 7 years, 9 years, 11 years, 13 years, 15 years, 19 years, 25 years, and Open category.<\/p>\n<p>The tournament was inaugurated by FIITJEE School Managing Director Kumar Jain, School Treasurer Rajan, and School Principal Pongal Punitha. The event was presided over by Vellore Chess Association President Manoharan and Secretary Manikanda Swamy.<\/p>\n<p>Prize money and medals were presented to all the players who participated in the competition.<\/p>\n<p>For the year 2026 champions,<\/p>\n<p>In the 5 years category \u2013 Asilan,<br \/>In the 7 years boys category \u2013 Siva Adithya,<br \/>Girls \u2013 Sakthi,<br \/>In the 9 years boys \u2013 Yugan Adithya,<br \/>Girls \u2013 Thanishka,<br \/>In the 11 years boys \u2013 PRASANTH T,<br \/>Girls \u2013 Aaradhana,<br \/>In the 13 years boys \u2013 Mithun Pranav,<br \/>Girls \u2013 Rubika,<br \/>In the 15 years \u2013 Sam Edwin,<br \/>Girls \u2013 Divya Bharathi,<br \/>In the 19 years boys \u2013 Mithun,<br \/>Girls \u2013 Prathiba,<br \/>In the 25 category \u2013 Jeevitha and Indhuleka,<br \/>In the Open category \u2013 Yoganandan,<br \/>Girls \u2013 Olsiyar<br \/>were declared as the champions of 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The prize distribution ceremony was attended by School Principal Pongal Punitha and special invitees Industrialist Shanmugam Sivaraasan, special guest Dr. Deenadayalan from Government Medical College, Vellore Chess Association President Manoharan, Secretary Manikanda Sami, Dr. Bala Murugan, Dr. Thanga Mariappan, Dr. Sivakumar, Dr. Dharani, Raja Shankar, who distributed the prizes to the winners.<\/p>\n<p>The event arrangements were carried out
