Vellore District Level Chess Championship – 2026

The Vellore District level chess championship was conducted at FIITJEE Global School, Katpadi under the auspices of the Royal Vellore Chess Association. Around 250 chess players from across the district participated in the competition. Events were held for both boys and girls in the categories of 5 years, 7 years, 9 years, 11 years, 13 years, 15 years, 19 years, 25 years, and Open category.

The tournament was inaugurated by FIITJEE School Managing Director Kumar Jain, School Treasurer Rajan, and School Principal Pongal Punitha. The event was presided over by Vellore Chess Association President Manoharan and Secretary Manikanda Swamy.

Prize money and medals were presented to all the players who participated in the competition.

For the year 2026 champions,

In the 5 years category – Asilan,
In the 7 years boys category – Siva Adithya,
Girls – Sakthi,
In the 9 years boys – Yugan Adithya,
Girls – Thanishka,
In the 11 years boys – PRASANTH T,
Girls – Aaradhana,
In the 13 years boys – Mithun Pranav,
Girls – Rubika,
In the 15 years – Sam Edwin,
Girls – Divya Bharathi,
In the 19 years boys – Mithun,
Girls – Prathiba,
In the 25 category – Jeevitha and Indhuleka,
In the Open category – Yoganandan,
Girls – Olsiyar
were declared as the champions of 2026.

The prize distribution ceremony was attended by School Principal Pongal Punitha and special invitees Industrialist Shanmugam Sivaraasan, special guest Dr. Deenadayalan from Government Medical College, Vellore Chess Association President Manoharan, Secretary Manikanda Sami, Dr. Bala Murugan, Dr. Thanga Mariappan, Dr. Sivakumar, Dr. Dharani, Raja Shankar, who distributed the prizes to the winners.

The event arrangements were carried out by organizers Sivakumar, and Naresh, and Arbiters Paramesh, GPC Prakash, Karthieyan, Loka Prakash, YogaJothi.
